Specifications

In order for you to enjoy the best audio and video quality, please ensure that the specifications of the equipment at the source (hosting) location has at least the following specifications:

Minimum Network Requirements of the location where the MPEG-4 converter (Personal Video Server), or MPEG-2 converter ( e.g. Slingbox™ or compatible equipment) is to be installed:

  • Cable or DSL Modem (for out-of-home viewing)
  • 600 Kbps Upstream Network Speed (for MPEG-2 systems) or
    1Mbps Upstream Network Speed (for MPEG-4 systems)
    (Higher network upstream speeds yield higher quality video)
  • Home Network Router - wired or wireless (UPnP capability highly recommended)

Minimum Requirements for PC:

  • Windows Vista, XP, or 2000 (SP4) Operating Systems
  • Pentium IV 1.5GHz
  • 512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended)
  • 200 MB Free Hard Disk Space
  • Graphics Card (24-bit color)
  • Sound Card (16-bit)
  • Ethernet Network Connectivity (wired, wireless, or Power Line)
 Minimum Requirements for Mac:

  • PowerPC G4 600 MHz, Intel 1.5GHz
  • Mac OS X 10.4 -  (click here for more information about Mac OS X 10.3)
  • 512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended)
  • 1024 x 768 compatible display (millions of colors recommended)
  • 200 MB available disk space
